We found the house we want to live in right around Lincoln Park! We are quite happy with this place except for no fire place. :p

Goodbye Indiana~~~ We are going to Chicago to hunt for our apartment tomorrow. We already looked up a lot of information of each house on the internet. I was stuck between location and size. If the house is far from the downtown, the size is much bigger. Or, if the location is good, the apartment size is much smaller than in the suburban area. We have considered the things we really want for our house on a limited budget and set up a few important conditions. It will be good if...
*close to downtown
*wooden floor
*enough windows for sunshine
*vintage style is better than modern style
*high ceilings
*a fire place if it is possible
I know that everything can't be satisfied, but I can fantasize about it. :) Of course, I am ready to go to the windy city with my brand new coat. Please, make a lot of magic with our choice~~~

I am slowly reading this book "Homemade Life" by Molly Wizenberg for about three months because I don't want to finish this book too fast. Recently, this is one of my favorite books! It consists of many short essays with recipes. I found one sentence that made me think of my husband and me. "We loved the foreignness in each other, the mispronunciations and bridged gaps." This is the feeling we had when we first met. We liked our DIFFERENCES, we were brave enough to accept it. We keep loving the imperfect parts of each other.

It is the time to fix the holiday music channel on iTunes radio station just like I did last year. :) I start to get excited when the street decorations go up for Christmas!

I bought one book that has an interesting title, "Skipping Christmas," by John Grisham today. I will read it on the train to Chicago this weekend.

I got these photos we took last month at the Gwanghwamun park in Seoul from my friend. She used her special HORIZON camera to take these. The moment I got these it propelled me to imagine this big street right around our old house in my head.

Kay and I went to the antique shop named "Curiosity Shoppe". The shop owner was a very kind woman, she passionately explained the purpose and history of her collections in detail. It all looked old and dusty no matter how much time passed, but really nice.

It started snowing from yesterday. Here it is a place of comfort and peace. This is where I like to be. I even love to listen to falling snow on the roof sitting in the chair.

I read some of Kay's magazines "Country Woman". I looked at the beautiful photos of nature and got some recipes for homemade dishes from each of the issues. One night, I was reading this magazine next to him. He looked at me, asked SERIOUSLY, "Do you want to be a county woman? Really?" ;)

Homemade dinner for a snowy day-sloppy joe with sides of macaroni shells and baked potato fries. It was homey, delicious! :D

There are two doggies and one cat here. I just feel good hanging around with them on the couch in the sun room. They are so cute and funny!!! The small dog, funny Sir Didymus, is old so he is not active except for going outside. The big black dog, Sammy, who I met twice before is friendly. But, I don't think you can imagine her jumping around like a baby if you just look this picture of her.

I am a crazy lover of dogs, not of cats. Usually, I am scared of any kind of cats. But, Daisy is an adorable cat, she is just independent. She disappears and comes up quietly from somewhere like playing hide-and-seek! Sadly, I am not brave enough to touch her by myself, we are beginning to get close now. ;D

I wish I could play with my Pobi here. She maybe misses me as much as I miss her.

Kay drove me around the lake today. I became overwhelmed with the magical road with colorful trees and fresh air! I couldn't take my eyes off from the humongous lake! I think I am falling in love this area now.

I was listening the song "Slipping Through My Fingers" from the Mamma Mia movie sound track today, tears just fell down. Oh... I just hung up the phone with my mom. I remember I cried same when I listened to this song in the movie a couple of years ago.

Last week, I wrote a card that has "Please get well soon" message on the cover to my mom. My mom is in a sad mood. So, she still cries when she talks with me on the phone. I can feel her voice is shaking, even though she tries to hide her grief. I wanted to send her "cheer up" card in order to make her feel better. But Mike talked me that this message is not supposed to use for kind of this situation. Anyway, I just wanted to do it, so I did. I asked him if he wanted to add some message to my mom and he said, "Be happy, she is just on a long vacation."

Yes, I am just on a long long vacation. I try to focus on maintaining a happy mood.

We are relaxed here at #150, a peaceful, pretty house in pennsylvania surrounded by incredibly beautiful nature. Everywhere I look around, it is just wonderful scenery like a postcard's picture. I get up to the real Dreamy Morning here. :)

We will head up to see his dad and Kay in Pennsylvania tomorrow. I've been expecting to see them and their new house in the mountains. Also, I'm really looking forward to seeing deers in person! Maybe, on the highway going to Pennsylvania will be beautiful with leaves changing to a gold color this season!

On his birthday, last year, we arrived in Seoul from a trip from the States late at night. So my mom brought a cake to our house to give him instead of me. And, this year, we are at his mom's house not our house. I felt sad that I couldn't bake a birthday cake for him. Such a bad wife... :(

We had a small celebration with his mom and went to watch the movie, "The Time Traveler's Wife," based on the book I read two years ago. It was sad, and the opening and closing titles using misty lights were good. Watching a movie was a special thing we did on his birthday. :D

Looking for color matches from our storage unit #35.

Della suggested going to the Anderson Orchard to pick some apples. We got a 4 dollar bag and map of there. We followed the lists of apple trees to find good quality apples. Mike gave me a look that meant he was ready to pick some apples, and he got them with a handmade apple picker. We got 12 apples! Needless to say, it was an enjoyable experience to get apples by ourselves on this beautiful farm. The taste was wonderfully sweet! :)

Finding different shapes of some things in Korea and here are interesting to me. It makes me more aware of the differences of Korea. The things I passed by today were pine cones and pears. Pine cones are huge but thinner, their length is approximately same like my hand. Many pine cones in Korea we picked for decorating our wedding table were short and much more fat than these. Pears are totally different, more sweet and soft.

In his mom's house, we don't have many things to do like in Seoul. One funny thing is that we go shopping to the Walmart when we are bored. Last night, we went there around 11 o'clock. I took a picture, and got unexpected reflection shot of Walmart's logo from the camera lens. How pretty it is! It looks like stars in the sky.

These are photos of me taking my first hayride by Paul, Mike's friend, around his house. The weather was perfect to enjoy sun outdoors. It was an unforgettable memory. :)

October 3, 2009

We were in a crazy rush to pack stuff for moving the last few days in Seoul. And now, we are completely peaceful, even though Mike is busy preparing for his exam. :) I love this time which may never happen again hanging around with my husband all day. We will head up to his friend's house tomorrow for a hayride. It will be exciting if it doesn't rain. As Della did, let us cross our fingers. :)

Now, it is Halloween season again. When we visited his parents last year, it was the same time before Halloween. There are many cute and funny things I can enjoy everywhere. Among them, I like these various shapes of real gourds most. Honestly, when I found these at the mart, I was about to squeeze them to make a sound like rubber toys. These were not toys, amazingly. ;)
